// PRODUCT OVERVIEW

One system.
Infinite geometries.

Kalzip is the world's first and most-installed standing seam aluminum roofing and cladding system. Profiled aluminum panels are precision-rolled on-site, mechanically seamed, and engineered to span curved, faceted, and free-form geometries that conventional metal roofing cannot achieve.

Originating in Germany in 1968, Kalzip pioneered the modern standing seam roof — replacing rivets, screws, and fasteners with a continuous mechanical seam that eliminates penetrations through the weather barrier. The system uses lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum (one-third the weight of steel) and delivers exceptional spans without intermediate supports.

For Canadian projects, Kalzip's XT roll-forming technology allows panels to be manufactured on-site in lengths up to 300 feet — eliminating end-laps and the leakage risk they introduce. The result is a single-piece, watertight envelope from ridge to eave.

Beyond performance, Kalzip's sculptural potential is what draws architects: panels can be smooth-curved, tapered, perforated, and finished in coil-coated PVDF colors or natural mill aluminum. The E-Clip thermal break dramatically reduces conductive heat loss at substructure connections — critical for cold-climate energy codes.

ETG delivers Kalzip throughout Canada with full pre-construction support: shop drawings, structural analysis, thermal modeling, and installer coordination. From civic buildings to fire stations to transit hubs, Kalzip is the system architects specify when the envelope is the architecture.
